Spring Break 2013 – FLORIDA Style!

An amazing spring break trip to Florida to see my mom and her adorable farm as well as a at Disney and the beach rounded out our 2013 spring break trip this year. We made some incredible memories and I know my kids will remember the fun times we had, hey they are still talking about it. First we hung out with my Mom and grandparents and the animals. The kids had a blast feeding, chasing, playing, gathering eggs and exploring Nana’s land! Dirt was their new best friend! We then took a day to run around Disney and visit the princesses. I so wish I could have bottled up Kolbie’s excitement and joy when we walked into the room with Tangled, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. OH MY!!!!! Her face was priceless and so worth the wait. Not only did we get to take pictures but each princess chatted with her and gave her big ol’ hugs! It was perfect! I think the kids could have spent the entire time at the farm just hanging out but we had to pop over to the beach for a swim! So.Much.Fun! On the last day we were there we gathered everyone up for a mini family session. It was so good to have my mom and all my siblings together and in a photograph! I will treasure these pictures forever!

It was a special time for me and my family and I am so glad we went. We ate good food, loved on each other and made some sweet memories! Hope you enjoy the photos!

“Sweet Dance moves” cupcakes!

 

 

For Kolbie’s last dance class before recital we decided to make these treats for her to pass out after class. Strawberry cupcakes with vanilla frosting and a pearl gum ball on top. I made a circle tag that said, “Sweet Dance Moves” We went with purple because that is their costume color for recital. Her 1st dance recital is this saturday and we CANNOT WAIT!!!

I mean it feels almost like Christmas around here. I will have a post full of adorable dancy-ness next week!

Sew what?!

I have fallen in love with sewing. WEIRD, I know but so fun and so addicting! This would be my first apron and other than the most obvious mistake, (I will let you see if you can figure it out) I think it turned out okay! I just finished my 4th quilt, but that is another blog post another day!

Easter 2013

Another Easter come and gone already! WOW…2013 is flying by! We had a pretty low key rainy Easter this year. Kolbie enjoyed finding the eggs inside and even Conan took a turn hiding some for her! Super cute! After a fun cookout at my sisters house it was home to watch the Rangers play! Hello Baseball season!

Kolbie’s 4th Beach Themed Birthday! Also Featured on Hostess with the Mostess!!!

My kid’s birthdays are the highlight of my year! We have such a blast planning, baking, decorating and crafting. I make the kids decide on a theme in August so we have plenty of time to find some great deals. This year we went with a “Beach” theme with a slightly modern twist. I loved using yarn and craft tags with the bold solid colors along with the glass bottles. The only request from both of the kids the year was that I make their cake…yikes, this is so not my department so I took the easy way out and made cupcakes. We had crafts for the kids an ornament to decorate  and a sweet candy bar. Each girl had a tiny pail with fingernail polish that Kolbie specifically choose for everyone. She was so cute telling me who liked what color! We personalized the table with custom name tags and pink cups! I made funny little beach saying that were scattered throughout the house! Kolbie was so involved this year and helped me make all the treats. The hardest part was narrowing it down, this girl loves EVERYTHING!!!! Yes, of course the colors were pink and teel! The look on her face when she walked into the house after everything was set up was priceless. She could hardly contain herself!

This girl is so loved and we are so thankful to all her sweet friends and family that came to help us celebrate! Chris and I are so proud of her and we are still trying to figure out how she is already 4! Thank you Lord for giving us this precious girl, I love being her Mama! (and now I need a NAP!)

Kitchen Table Makeover!

I am so EXCITED to finally have my little kitchen table all done with a fresh coat of lovely tiffany blue! My Honey is super sweet! He will help me with any project no matter what crazy color I decide to slap on it! He did the sanding and prepping and I did the painting! I am tickled with how it turned out and now I am ready to paint the ugly brown mismatched chairs! Our next project is our laundry room! I cannot wait to get started on that bad boy!

Valentine’s Day Homemade Teacher Gifts

So this year for teacher gifts I wanted/needed (trying to be budget savvy) to make them something sweet and cute! I decided to have Kolbie help me make chocolate covered pretzels and put them in little mason jars with a tag and a stamp I found the other day at Michaels!  I think they turned out cute and were super easy and cheap!

I might have eaten a couple….errr or a few…..or a lot.

14 days of LOVE! – day 1

I decided to use the month of February to find 14 things that make my life wonderful. Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday. Even before I officially had a “Valentine” it was my favorite. I love what it stands for, the candy, the colors, and most of all my honey! I pray that I never take Chris for granted or his unconditional love. He is mine and I am his.

Day 1: Today I love my husband!

He makes me ME. He totally gets what I am about and loves me for it. He is kind, empathetic, honest, devoted, and loyal. I have loved him since the moment I heard his voice at Ron’s in Stillwater. We will celebrate our 10 wedding anniversary this year and I am stoked! The saying, “it just gets better and better” could not be more true. I am thankful for our family and I am so excited for this year and many more to come. I will never forget the day he asked me to be his wife. What a freaking honor. Today I celebrate you sweetheart. For all you are, for all you do. I love you.

 

 

 

Kolbie got a new bike for Christmas and I must say it was the perfect gift for her! We have spent hours outside riding back and forth in front of the house. The first few times she figured out how to pick up some speed she would make the most joyful face as she raced by. I had to grab my camera and catch her in action. Oh how this is quickly becoming one of my favorite pictures of her. She is so full of life and everyday is full of wonderful smiles, giggles and LOVE. Gerby you are crazy awesome!
